Best thing to do is just put the heads on with an old gasket and clay the motor.
According to AFR you "might have to notch the pistons". 1986 is a must. E cam is pretty low lift so you might get lucky.
High flow 2.020'' valves might require aftermarket pistons notched for valve clearance. Made in USA.
Installation Note: 1986 5.0L must have pistons notched for clearance.

I've fly cut my own pistons, using the bit owned by a friend and a jig made from an old E7 head. It was pretty slick, the guy's uncle (a machinist I think) had cut a piece of the head out such that you could bolt it over the short block, and see what you were doing.
You measure the depth on the piston in the hole, set the travel on the cutting bit, and start cutting (the cutting bit goes in a drill). You're not going deeper in to the piston than the original eyebrow, just expanding the size of the eyebrow/valve relief.
Cutting pistons produces metal shavings, so you take measures to protect against that.
Obviously, DIY takes some specialty tools, but your car will wake up with those heads.Ronald Reagan:"Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it."
