I'm needing help trying to figure this out. I purchased the SVE 130 3G amp alternator to upgrade my charging system as I got tired of the headlights dimming at idle for my 93 GT. Purchased this on Friday as it came in Saturday. I installed it exactly the way they showed it on video, to the T.
I went to turn the car on and noticed the lights were still the same at idle. Once I took it to 2000 rpm the lights would brighten up. I also noticed after 5minutes or so, the alternator was HOT that you couldn't even touch it. Once I took it to 2000 rpm, the alternator showed signs of cooling down some. Then it began getting hotter at idle. Ive checked my wiring and all seems to be fine. Ive tried looking for a bad ground but no luck. Anyone know what else I could check?
