Give me 18k and I might sell you my 150,000 7.3 with 50,000 on the engine.

Key to buying a personal diesel truck is to find either one that has been traded into a new car dealer, or someone selling it privately. Do NOT buy from a damn used car lot. I cannot send you to one dealer in the dfw area that will shoot you straight. All crooked bastards.

Got any questions feel free to PM me.

personally, when I buy a vehicle I look at value, dependability, and how much it will cost to fix when something does go wrong. Its nice to have nice things. I miss having nice cars, but Im happy with my 8 year old 130k mile car, that I rarely do anything to.

If it were me, and I was looking for a truck, I would find an 07 and up chevrolet gas truck

Good advice and I honestly don't see myself buying a new vehicle again. The prices are giraffe pussy high now and new vehicles depreciate like crazy.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy a 6.0 - KNOWING what I have to do. Once mine was dialed in, it was a tough ass truck. I rolled around on a race tune that had that big bastard running in the 13's and getting 18+/- mpg. It'd get toasty while towing, so I'd back the programmer down to a more reasonable setting, but it pulled a damn sight better than the cummins did and the drive back was always easier on the spine/ass.

I wouldn't mind a 95-02 Dodge, but I'm not in the financial spot to dick with a HPCR Cummins at this point.

The power is nice on the diesel, but from a maintenance and repair stand point you can't hardly beat a 6.0L gas GM truck. The only really expensive issues we have had with one was 4x4 related.

agreed. If my 6.0 ever gives out I plan to buy another one do the needed fixes to it and drive it as long as possible.

I'm probably about to be in the same boat as you OP. Probably gonna unload the Cobra and get a decent 6.0.

I just got a 6.0 and couldn't be happier. I know what it'll cost if it breaks. Any vehicle, new or used, can potentially shit the bed

You can't really shake a finger at the 6.0l gas chebbys. If you're just looking for diesel, go with the 6.0. Prices are often low on those, just be sure to know what you're looking at. Assume the time/cost of deletes if you buy one without the work already performed. Coolant filter, oil cooler, studs, EGR delete, custom tunes from Vivian @ quicktrick, and a straight pipe will make your truck run like a bat out of hell forever. You can run a 6.0 without studs most of the time, but if you're in doubt go ahead and do it (especially if the cab is off).
I just picked up an '05 6.0l with only 101k for $2950 Saturday. It's a solid running truck. It's already sold to a local business, and I'll be performing the deletes throughout this week.

Not a huge fan of the wheels but they fit the color scheme IMO
