  • Hydrographics durability??

I have the engine out of my marauder and i was wanting some of those nice FRPP blue valve covers, but can't seem to find any in stock at any of the major online retailers.

It seems like every time i see painted valve covers, they always look a little crappy after a while in the engine bay. So i was thinking of getting them hydro-dipped, but was wondering if any one had experience with the hydrographics on their valve covers, and if it can withstand the engine bay heat. TIA.

.. hydrographics is either paint or powder clear coated. On plastic they would use a paint clear and only be as durable as paint. It will be fine with the heat

i have been researching the past few days and found several forums where guys have claimed that they had their factory 4.6 plastic valve covers powder coated.

can you powder coat them? i was looking into hydrographics but most places don't offer solid colors; just graphics like skulls, flames, camo, carbon fiber, and variations there of. i just want mine that "wrinkle" blue like the FRPP valve covers.

there are even some on ebay that claim to be powder coated. i just don't want to pay $250 since powder coating mine would be cheaper, if its an option.
