  • Motorcraft parts

Somebody here can tell me about motorcraft parts? I have a few question

Are they really and truly up to ford's standards for original parts? Some people say yes, others not so sure. So if you get a motorcraft tie rod end. Or perhaps a oil filter. Will it be as good as the one that came on the car from the factory? Or any motorcraft part for that matter.

Was talking about this with an old friend and he seems to think they are the exact same part as the factory parts would have been. But im not so sure. What is the real story on all that

wtf does it matter even the ford dealerships don't use those parts thats why you see O'Reilly Auto Parts trucks constantly deliver to dealerships because they save a ton not using motorcraft parts.

          Motorcraft is not ac Delco.

You know how many parts ac Delco makes? Zero. Fucking ac plugs will have ngk on them.

That shit happens all the time. Hell, dealers are some of the aftermarkets best customers. Dealer Row on I20 in Arlington practically keeps one store in business.

When I was either a tech or in parts, we would price oem and generic, and guess what, people wanted the cheaper option a lot of times. Add in the factor that it usually took less time to get the generic part in, thus getting the car back quicker, and we sold a lot of non-oem parts.

When you got to the pharmacy, do you insist on name brand or do you automatically get the generic if available?

                        This is another question

Is ACdelco up to GMs standards?

As for motorcraft the answers here still seem to vary

And I already assumed that Ford subd out the parts to some chinese plant. But its still a little different when the chinese plant has to make the parts to standards that Ford has set

you are under the impression that either Delco or Motorcraft has a big ass plant in the USA making these parts?

Sorry what i mean was that i was assuming that GM and Ford had hired out the work to china. But that even though theyre basically chinese parts they were at least made to Ford and GMs standards

But this is really more of a question than a assumption. To me they still seem to be a lot higher quality parts than the cheap Autozone specials
