I have a 1989 Coupe with a stock block, vortech, H/C/I, etc. Just got the car back saturday from getting tuned at Gear heads. They did a great job. Car made 470.3hp at the wheels and 452 Torque. Felt really fast until Saturday night when I took my buddy for a ride. Shifted from 2nd to 3rd at about 5k, dropped clutch and BOOM! T5 took a shit.... I guess all you guys that said that "when the power comes, the T5 goes" were correct.
So now I'm looking for alternatives. I need something that will hold up to around 600hp because when the engine goes. It's getting built and then pullied. I'm thinking either TKO500, TKO600, or T-56. I was wanting you guys opinions on the pros and cons of each. And any information about modifications that will be needed. I know I will need a new bell and clutch but what about crossmember, flywheel, driveshaft, etc. Any opinion or info you have will be appreciated.
Thanks
