Expedition motor swap 5.4 vs 4.6

OK....oodball but here I go....

I have a 98 expedition 5.4L and I put a PI long block assy in it because the motor tossed a rod,,,,,the body is falling apart and now Im having problems with the PATs system leaving me stranded even after having Andy at Prime Tuning cut it off ( so electrical systems are having issues too )......

I have a friend with a 2001 expedition bad motor but it is a 4.6L, I want to take it and put my 5.4 in it,,,,,but do I have to swap my bad electronics with it, ecu? Whats different? What do I have to change? Thoughts......

Before I would consider your swap I would fix whatever gremlins you are currently experiencing. If you don't you will just end up hating both of the piles of junk in your driveway because neither will be running.

Agreed I'm wanting to keep only the 5.4 long block out of the old and scrap it because of the grimlins and trash the rest just was curious if I could move just the long block and use all of the 4.6 electronics

Swap it, program it for the 5.4, have a decent truck

From what I understand, its a direct swap. You will have to swap computers. I was doing some research for when/if my motor ever goes out.
