  • A fox vs 95

    Hi everyone I joined this forum cause I wanted to get into another fox. I missed mine and I love stangs so I want another.

    But now a new question arises. Which car would I be better off with? The fox or the 95? Some of those 1995 cars sure look mean. When therye done up right. And Im never going to get a coupe fox. I know theyre better for racing but I dont like the look and im not buying one. Its that simple.

    So know that which car is going to turn out to be the better buy? And for what reasons? I have the money set aside already to get a decent car. Just been dragging my feet as i do with all larger purchases i make

    I would aim for a 94-95 gt or Cobra. I love that body style a lot more than a fox hatch. The cars seem to have overall better quality and way better interior.

      100% depends on what YOU want....
      Foxbodys are starting to appreciate, but a car is never a good investment so that doesn't really matter. .

      PS: fox coupe is where it's at!

          I like the body style of the sn95 cobras.

          But a clean fox will always feel like home.

            sn95 is superior in almost every way, my fox pretty much has all sn95 suspension, sn95 chassis is soooo much nicer

              Whats actually different about it? I had heard that when SN95 owners lower their cars too much, they end up have to switch to fox shocks.

                Don't worry about the bad stuff you hear about the sn95 computer.

                It works just fine with a competent tuner.

                  You can make both body styles look and perform great it's all in what you prefer anyone can tell you this or that but what it comes down to is what you want. 94-95 would be cheaper to find and prob be in better condition parts would be easy to find. Good luck finding a fox In the wrecking yard for random parts.

                    That is something i haven't considered. I love the junkyards. I was always going to them for fox parts. But that was back then.

                    So thats a strike against the fox. Well there are several strikes against the fox in this thread. The only strike against the 95 would be all my experience lies with the fox. I would be learning a new car instead of getting to rely on old knowledge.

                      Why? It's the same general car. The driveline is basically identical. The suspension has the same general design.

                          SN95 is far nicer inside for a daily driver or cruiser. They stop better and handle better as well but take a lot more to get the same acceleration you get from a Fox due to their additional weight and lackluster performance in stock form.

                          I drove a bone stock 5.0 Vert that I did a 5 speed conversion on a few months ago. I forgot how damn slow they really are in stock form. Non PI 4.6's are even worse.

                            Do you know the weight difference between a 93 GT and a 95 GT? I had always assumed they gained weight but i never knew how much. Just like there was weight gain with the s197

                              I think it's 200lbs from a hatch to a SN95.
