    OK...
    So this weekend I decided to change my intake manifold and carb on my 1969 Mustang. I have done this dozens of times without any issues on my other cars but something happened on this one. Now my car will not run. It will start and die. If I keep working the throttle it will rev and keep running but as soon as I let off it will die. I thought it was the carb so I put the old one back on and same thing. Start and rev but no idle and no steady throttle. 0, 1/4, 1/2 throttle, etc will simply stall out and die with either carb. It is getting plenty of fuel. I have a gauge on the inlet line and it is steady at 6psi. I cannot get the timing set because it won't run but I have manually lined it up and it should be close, at least close enough to run. I even replaced the cap and rotor just in case. All the plug wire are routed correctly.
    Before pulling the intake the car ran perfectly. Just bump the key and it was running. Smooth idle and quick response.
    My first thought was major vacuum leak but unless it is the underside of the manifold itself I just cannot find any issues.

    Any ideas? I changed the manifold, carb and valve covers. That is all and now it will not run. Swap back to a proven good carb and it still won't run. Unless Edelbrock machined the manifold incorrectly, like wrong angle at the head surface, I just cannot imagine it having a vacuum leak.

    Typical port mismatch! It probably is leaking on the bottom...

        I'd start off with something flammable and aerasol and spray down the edges, but as above it is probably leaking in the valley. Migh have to pull it to see.
