You know, I worked hard getting all my new suspension and sway bars in last week on the MX5. Drove it one night all around and then to the store the other day and it handles great. So tonight I am heading to the gym. I notice something is wrong ahead of me and kind of throttle down below the speed limit. I see weird skid marks way up the road going out of my lane. I am focusing up the road and kind of start to ease into the middle of the road in case I have to dart over. That's when I here the nasty crack noise. I still didn't see it but I could tell I was loosing air fast, and it was a nice impact. Pulled into the service station and my drivers front was flat. So I figured I busted the tire. I crept it home since I was only about a mile out. I also noticed the rock in the road someone had stealthily placed. It was white, about 2 1/2 inches tall, and 6 inches wide. Laying right square with the white line. I got out and pitched it off the road but fuck, I kind of liked these wheels. Tire looks fine amazingly enough but I bet it is screwed. They all have less then a 1000 miles on them.

I doubt it. I was kind of wanting some after market anyways but I was hoping to burn through these first. I may go on the hunt for a wheel when I get up tomorrow. Trying not to drop 1500 right now on wheels and tires since I was going to start saving for a supercharger.
I am pretty sure that rock was placed there on purpose. It was just to well lined up with the white line. I was kind of impressed it didn't move when I hit it. Just glad it didn't take anything else out.Whos your Daddy?

Semi-seriously - A little JB Weld and the wheel will be good to go!
I hit a trailer receiver(stinger) with my truck a few years ago. The front tire flipped it upright and the rear tried to drive over it - filleting the tire and denting/cracking the wheel. I had a new tire put on, but kept losing air. I pulled the wheel off and found the crack that the tire shop missed. My boss and I deflated the tire, applied JB Weld, let it cure and the re-inflated. I put quite a few miles on it while making my mind up on whether to just replace the one wheel or go aftermarket.
Of course the crack in my wheel wasn't as large as the crack in your wheel.
And I'm not saying I recommend it for any long term usage, but in a bind it can work..

if the wheel is straight, have it weldedDon't worry about what you can't change.
Do the best you can with what you have.
Be honest, even if it hurts.
