  • svo motive gears install any different?

    8.8 M4209G410M Ford racing gearset 4.10's
I see on some sites some have had a problem with decel whine and the instructions may be a little different from earlier motorsport gearsets. Can anyone tell me what the difference might be? I don't see any instructions on Motives site.

people blame the gears for the poor install.

Motive Gear has different quality gears. I personally won't install the shit anymore.

I've changed the gears in my cars 8.8 over 5 times. I've always used the factory installed shim and it happens to be a single .010 shim.

Never a problem or noise. Same this time. I was leery of the M at the end of the number. These gears had Ford racing stamped on them and no pinion depth. They had a undercut ring gear and were polished. We tried it out on the street, sounds great. I didn't realize I was getting motive gears made for ford motorsport but they work fine.

I was trying to lower my cars rollout to aid the reaction time for the 7.0X class. Going to try some different QA1 settings on those front struts next too.

That damn 7.0 class is nuts.
