Checking one out today for my wife to drive around, great condition, I will get to test drive today. It is the Sport edition. Read a couple of reviews online, but I would rather get some opinions on here.

THey had some electrical and AC-related gremlins, but those got sorted out in the mid-late 2000s. Coil packs are common primarily due to the valve cover seals failing and letting oil in. 03 went to a better rubber, so not nearly as common. They got rid of the hydraulic cooling fan in 03 too which is good. Rear power window regulator tracks fail frequently. The plastic rollers crack and break, and the glass drops into the door. The replacements are easy to find and not too expensive. The job only takes about 30 minutes. My mother has had an 01 v8 sport since new and its held up well. I've had to do several rear window regulators, coilpacks and valve cover seals, a couple batteries, and a fuel pump and thats it. Has around 95k on it now. I'm impressed with the interior quality. It still looks great after all these years. Nothing is worn yet. After she retired and the car stopped sitting in the sun baking every day, the window regulators stopped breaking. You hear lots of horror stories, but hers has treated her well. Seems the v6 cars are the ones that are more problematic.

I owned a 2004 LS V-6 for 2 years. Has 20K miles when I bought it. Had 40K when it went away. Replaced all 6 coil packs, valve cover gaskets twice, and a RF power window regulator. At the end the A/C was weak, and the blend doors were clattering at times.
Great looking car, handled well, but I never had much confidence in it since so many things needed repair at such low mileage. Had baseball size hail at work in April 2012, and it was totaled. Paid $10,000 for it in 2010, and State Farm gave me $9,600 in 2012. I was quite pleased to see it go away.

Transmission is a 5r55 like what was in 05-09 Mustangs I believe. I know there are some mechanical differences, but the pans interchange. I've got a performance automatic pan with dipstick on my moms LS. They dont come with a dipstick from the factory.
