MKIV Jetta TDI

Been thinking of getting a MKIV Jetta diesel for a DD. Ill be trading in my Fusion for a brand new but used GLI soon. Where i work my car constantly get dirty. Thats the reason for the DD. What are yall thoughts on a TDI Jetta? As soon as i get one ill be getting a tune for as well for better mpg. Yall know of any other diesel cars that get good gas milage that are for a good price? Wish we had all the cars over in Europe and shit. They have a shit ton of diesels there. Or am i better off trying to fix my 94 Ranger??

Well the jetta can be bought for 4 or 5 grand. So I wouldn't have any payment really. Plus I can't figure out what's wrong with the ranger. Lol. I'm done throwing money at it trying to fix it.
