  • Rotational squeak

I have an incredibly annoying rotational squeak from each of my rear wheels. Pads/rotors are in good shape and everything behaves just fine, but there's a squeak for every revolution of the wheel. What should I check for?

    Thanks DFWM!

One squeak per wheel revolution won't be a driveshaft, but multiple squeaks/rev could be.

Have the pads been replaced and the rotors machined or replaced? A hard spot or glazing of the pad and / or rotors will cause noise.

or a backing plate rubbing the rotor.

Most of the time when I run into that, it's self induced. I've tweaked them a few times doing brake and suspension repair. I generally catch it before giving back to the customer.

I had one get bent on the top side when someone was putting the wheel on, pulling it down.

When I was sitting in your trunk I remember seeing that drivers tire wobble.

I had this happen once but it was only one tire, turned out that the ABS sensor nut had come off and the sensor was rubbing

At the track getting a quick ride to the staging lanes.

Put the car on jack stands and put it in gear, then get out and check for noise location. Make sure it's not going to fall off of the stands!
