    My 85 and 86 do the same thing . I just never roll them down past the weather strip .

          Hey Jim, you have any trunk tumbler locking pins? I cant find those damn things anywhere... Im tired of the trunk rattling too! I even replaced the weatherstriping AND the bump stops. But, where the bump stops screw into the hatch, they have started to tear the metal... thats alot of the prob i bet. Anyone got a welder?

              I got a welder . I will have to look thru the fuzzy fox box , I think I might have one .

                      Your gonna have to tig weld that cause it's pretty thin right there. And you have to order a whole trunk lock kit to get the retaining clip. It's 19.99 at vato zone.

                      You might try lightly hammering it back in to shape. We might be able to tack it with a wire feed a few times but it won't take much to put a hole in it

                          Lol we could tack it a bunch then hit it with a grinder and spray some rustoleum on it

                          Never said it couldn't be done but tiggin it would be best
