  • thinking of putting som FR500s on my fox

some would disagree but regardless......would the 17x10.5s out back and 17x9s up front fit. its got a 5 lug and i planned on lowering it. just wondering if im going to have rubbing behind the wheel. fenders have already been rolled.

if they will fit with out a BFH then what tires would YOU run.

They look good on coupes IMO, but not on GT's or Hatches. I'm about 99% positive the 10.5's won't fit.

EDIT: Didn't see where the fenders had been rolled. Now I don't know. I remember William Wallace from the old board used to have a bunch of foxes with big ass wheels.

Gawd damn this place is awesome.

Right now it's just a thought. I have a lx hatch that's currently metallic gray and I'm wanting something that kinda.....pops. It's basically all stock and I probably won't be focusing on go fast parts first. I'm gonna focus on handling and hookin up first. Between that and fixing all the body work I'll have my hands full for awhile. I want a CLEAN ass hatch and I think the one I picked up has that potential.

Figure I'd ditch the 96 cobra wheels and drop it on something that just looks tough.

ShawnQ did it(his were 18's) on his Bimini Blue Coupe - I don't know if he made it over here or not, but his car looked good.

Personally I think you should go with Anniversary wheels... btw I have a new set I'm selling.

I have ran both 17x10.5s and 18x10s FR500s on my coupe with 315.30.18s and 315.35.17s and both fit with minimal massaging. As long as you keep the fox width rear, it will work. However. 285s are an easier fitment. But I love the huge tire in the rear. But thats my own opinion. I've seen the same wheels as mine on an LX and it looked absolutely sexy. P.S. You will have to remove your quad shocks if you haven't already, which also makes good upper and lower control arms a must.

Yea i ran some 275s on my 85 on some welds but I wasn't sure how much different the offset made with the fr500s vs clearance. 315s are MUCH wider than 275s lol

10th anniversary cobra wheels are fugly...especially on foxes.. That coupe with the FR's is awesome. Would be a lot better slammed.

Agreed on lowering. I guess I'll google the 10th aniv. And see how hideous they are

Look at the CCWs that stretch has for sale in the classifieds. It would look so pro-touring.

                              That's my coupe.

The car is sitting on brand new Steeda Sport springs, they haven't settled yet in those pics. I plan on putting set of adjustable LCAs on it to fine tune the rear height. The front sits low enough for me. It doesn't rub anywhere (quad shocks removed). The rear 1/4's are rolled but it doesn't need it...I just did it when we painted it because I'm sure I'll go with a wider tire down the road.

The only regret I have with the wheels/tires is I let discount sell me a tire that was too narrow due to the fact that they guaranteed it wouldnt rub.

On corral, in the wheel/tire forum, there is a Discount Tire Direct employee who posts a lot and knows fox cars and what does an does not fit. He is a great help. I'd ask him about the 17x10.5's, although I know it has and can be be done.

                              Mine are 18x9/18x10

The pics I still hadn't straightened all the fender/hood/trim gaps yet. This was one day in the last few months where the weather was good enough to drive it (barely). The bolt-on mouldings aren't lined up either, makes the body lines look funny in some spots.

Now I've got the engine torn apart again due to some shady machine work a shop did...
