  • Ram twin disc questions

Any if you guys ever had a twin disc clutch and had problems shifting at high RPM? I knocked the ring gear loose on my 03 Cobra flywheel and thought it was the clutch coming apart so I found a screaming deal on a 90 series Ram. With the Cobra clutch I was power shifting at 6800 rpm no problems, with the Ram, it's like it doesn't want to shift fast at over 6-6200. I have the free play that Ram specifies and even tightened it up trying to get the clutch to release faster. Any other ideas or is this just something to deal with?

more mass/inertia on the input shaft = harder to shift

Throw that junk clutch in the trash and get a McCloud. I've had nothing but trouble with every ram I have installed.

Might just grab another lightweight flywheel and put the Cobra clutch back in, the disc and pressure plate both are still good.
