I follow you, it's like a sport bike rotor then. I've never had anything Like that to machine. You might call the manufacturer and see what procedure they recommend. Since you have a bit on each side of the rotor pushing inwards, I would think that it hold constant pressure and result in a smooth machining. My fear is that it could allow the outer ring to wobble allowing it cut a warped type surface in.
