P7100's aren't that bad to time if you have skinny arms to get to the lock pin under the pump and the pin isn't frozen in place lol. Oh and if somebody hasn't tried to torque down the pump nut without pulling the timing pin first lol! Gotta hate it when no matter how many times you roll the engine over with the pin free and it won't lock in, just to find out the nib is ripped off.

I don't use pins... drop-valve method to find true TDC and plunger lift to set desired timing

We set the plunger on the test stand and then pin the pump in the right spot. I worked at Fuel Research in Nash doing diesel injection from high school till 08. I hated trying to lift the damn things out of the engine bay more than anything else, I only weighed 150lbs at the time lol.

It's a large cylinder type filter that clamps to an aluminum mandrel bend 4" and then goes to a 4" 90 degree coupler to the turbo. There's no heat shield or mounting bracket, it floats in the same area the stock aibox is in now. A piece of bent flat strap would make a good support brace.

$110 shipped, pm if interested, it will fit 94-2002.

Stock exhaust with a muffler and converter delete usually have a nasty bark to them especially when loaded. I like the 4 inch with muffler on my 2000. The common rails with no muffler are nasty sounding, there's several that come by daily loaded down. They are always laying into the throttle to pull the overpass just south of me.

I would recommend the Transgo kit prior to having any problems. You can install most all of the kit with the trans still in the truck, the valve body will need to be removed. Follow the instructions closely, if the RH trans is like the RE there is one part of the directions specifically that if you don't pay attention will have you drilling a hole in the wrong separator plate.
I measured a vortec 305/350 filter yesterday at 3.5 inches. I was trying to get one to fit on a brodozer.

This one was stretched to fit.
