Same heads but the track heats come with better springs and if i remember right no egr ports.

Id do those imho. You shouldnt have to change anything but they will require new pushrods and suporting items such as foki said.

Buy the heads now and set them on a shelf. They are the big ticket item and buy the other stuff as you can.

The more lift the heads are capable of running, the more cam choices become available to you?

        Cylinder Head Suggestion...

Technically yes, but the dual spring is much better for valve control in higher rpm's(valve float), even if you're not running a huge lift/duration cam.

You will have to buy new rocker arms with the trick flow heads. They utilize a stud mount rocker as opposed to the pedestal mount that the stockers use.

You can get ARP head bolts for $50, Fel Pro gaskets from Oreillys won't run you much.

You're biggest issue with running a larger cam is going to be piston to valve clearance, not valve spring strength. With the valve placement on the trick flow heads, it does allow you to run a slightly bigger cam. Another option would be fly cutting your pistons.

Picking a cam for boost is different than a naturally aspirated cam. It doesn't need to be real big. I would call Comp Cams and tell them the combo you are looking to run and have them spec out a cam for your specific combination.

K, latemodel has the TFS-51400004M61, but summit doesn't... instead they have the TFS-51410004-M61... looking at the specs they are identical except:

              TFS-51400004M61 - Valve Seat Material:Tungsten
TFS-51410004M61 - Valve Seat Materialuctile iron

Make much difference? Don't have to pay taxes with Summit... $1200 shipped.

I'll give them a shout tomorrow and see what they suggest.

He's going to be running a good amount of boost, he would probably be better off using head studs instead of bolts.

Can't I just go down to Lowes and get some bolts?

LOL joke! I plan on doing the ARP head stud kit.

What cam do you have now?

You want the 61cc track heats from summit.

A simple f cam would work great and meet your goal but custom is even better. I had a lunati 51014 basically the same thing as a tfs1 cam. Alot of the vortech guys ran those back in the day.

How much boost can he run with HCI/Blower on stock bottom end?

                          There's no magic number.
