  • 2006 Taurus Misfire 3.0l v6

Does anybody have any experience with these? I got a random misfire code and a cylinder #3 misfire code. Was just wondering if these things had a common issue before I started throwing parts at it. The first thing I was thinking about replacing was the coil.

It's the coil pack. Pulled #3 wire off the back and no spark at all. The rest have excellent spark.

move it to another hole to confirm if the code follows the pack.

It's just one coil for all cylinders. I replaced it and no more miss.

Coil packs have a nasty bite.

At least just one went out. I got stranded when the coil pack went out on my old taurus

That sucks. Yeah luckily it didn't leave me stranded.
