  • Battery light on. Smells like it's burning

It's a 2001 f150 5.4. Yesterday the battery light came on and I noticed the smell, pulled over and checked it but no smoke or anything. Is this because the alternator is going out or the battery is bad? The gauge is fine and starts and runs fine. Just looking for some feed back preciate it

Smell like rotten eggs? If so it's the battery.

i'd disconnect the battery. Wonder if it is that brake switch for the cruise control that burns the truck to the ground?

might just unplug this one for kicks, and see if that changes anything.
