  • Nerf/step bars - Plastidip, powdercoat, line-x, rockguard, or?

Just got some nfabs for my truck and hate the glossy black color. Looking for a more flat color, or dull finish that looks better with the truck color. (iridium metallic) or something that would match the black/grey fender lip flares.

Which type of product would you use to achieve this? I'll take a pic shortly.

I guess the guy who sold them to you didn't inform you N-FAB will paint the bars pretty much any factory color you want, and they also offer a textured finish. Any chance you can return them?

Sweet truck, man! I also think it would look better if you removed the chrome body side molding. I love those factory wheels.

Thanks, may just do that. I swear these steps need to be moved 6" to the rear

Actually, they do look far forward. Can they swap sides?

See I thought about that, but the portion behind the last step is quite long, and the opposite in the front, I just wonder how far back the step would be if swapped. Let me go measure...

about the body side molding..... Would it look Ok if once removed it didn't make the chrome handles, mirror caps and window edge railings stand out or look out of place?

I don't think so. Since you have chrome wheels and bumpers the other chrome looks fine. I've just never been a fan of those moldings. It looks better without them and makes it easier to wash and dry it.

Take some steel wool and dull it up some. Not take off the finish but just enuff to dullen it. I've done it with aluminum wheels some painted parts and even chrome.
