  • Balancing a 331

Just curious what most people have balanced a 331 stroker to. If it was 28 oz or 50 or ? I'm getting it balanced at a machine shop and seen where a 28 oz is easier. Just looking for some advice

I did mine at 28. Didn't have any issues. Just make sure your flywheel is also balanced for the same weight.

What is the crank rated for at what bob weight? Lower is better, 50oz imbalance sitting that far in front of the #1 main journal sucks.
      50oz<28oz<0oz

Don't worry about what you can't change.
Do the best you can with what you have.
Be honest, even if it hurts.

If it's a 50oz crank @ 1900g bob weight and you are still at 1900g it's going to take a LOT of heavy metal $$$$ to 0 balance it out, you need to figure out what the "spec" is on the crank and go from there. If it's a 28oz crank @ 1900g and your BW is 1700g it would be much easier.
