  • Anyone local chrome plate plastic?

    Thanks

They did the dash plastics on my car, located in Ft Worth.

Mr. G's Enterprises refurbishes plastic, makes screw and bolt kits, and has an 8,000,000 auto fastener inventory.

Another vote for Mr G's. Back in the day they used to be the go to place for used Mustang parts but over the years, the rechroming thing turned out to be a better money maker.

They use the same process as OEM, vacuum metallization or whatever it's called. They're very big in the resto market these days.

I'm surprised Mr. G's doesn't offer chromed C5 -C6 underhood BS you see on every C5 - C6 vette at every car show.

FYI, from that Mr. G website:

                Rechromed Plastic:
We have quite a few Rechromed Plastic (chrome) Parts left for sale outright. They are listed with pictures in the Ford, GM, and Mopar sections. The pages you will be opening or shown on the right column. The description of make of car or listed in the center column and the Adobe Icon to open those PDF pages are shown on the left column. The pages are saved in small groups of 3 or 4 pages so you don't have to waste time down loading all the pages to see what you want. I try to update what is left available daily on the website. The quantities left in stock are shown in the description. Example (2 left). We no longer have an affiliate to actually vacuum metallize (chrome) more parts. We still have a repairman that can do minor repairs and prepare your old cores and get them ready to be chromed, if you have chips, nicks, or other needed repairs. You would need to call to discuss what we can repair

Well, that sucks. They were the only shop around here doing it that way.

Mr. G's used to do the best work like this, pretty much throughout Texas and also known for carrying trim parts that no one else has....but he is one of the biggest assholes I've ever dealt with, and I've heard the same from everyone else I know that's done business there.

Last time I was in there I went in for some plastic trim clips for the decklid on my 67' fastback....I took one of the old ones off for him to match it, and he argued with me for about 10 minutes that it wasn't the correct clip, even though I had just taken it off from holding the original piece of trim. Insisted that I buy a bag of clips that I knew wasn't correct, and he was more interested in making it clear how much longer he'd been doing this than I.

If you need parts, this guy can get most anything. Nice guy too.
