  • so what would cause my plugs to crack like this?

I was comming back from longview fri morning. I was running about 80 on 20 and all the sudden lost power and engine light came on. I had about 60 miles left so i limped home. I had it scanned and was misfire on #6. I pulled the plug, and it stared falling apart. Three of the six were the same all on the same side. Just curious what would cause this. Plugs are champion double platium with 69k on them. They are from an 08 wrangler.

We've been having the same issues on the Ecoboost F150. No fix yet though. Maybe a plug manufacturer issue...

Have no idea if they were cracked when put in. As previously said they are the original factory plugs. Just trying to figure out if there is anything in the moter that can cause the plugs to crack. I have never seen this before.

Working in a parts store, I saw more Champion plugs that were cracked when we got them. Probably 150-200 plugs in 13 years. Almost thing someone in our warehouse dropped ever Champion box of plugs.

How many other brands? < 5 total.

Iv seen the same failure with Champion plugs. Champion can only seem to make good plugs for lawnmowers and thats it.

I only used champion once, and the threads broke off of the rest of the plug when I tired to take them out. The threads werent even stuck, all I had to do was stick a flathead in there and spin the rest of it out.

<-- will not buy champion plugs again.
