I agree with the explorer cam. I would also find a fox style gt-40/explorer/cobra intake before I would go with the edelbrock. You will get that low end torque you're looking for.

If I was looking for MPG's I would do an explorer cam, tubular gt40, 19's, t56 and a good tune. Bumping compression would be nice.
Seb, think about it like this: if you have to rev it to make power, it isnt going to be efficient down low. You want torque when you are cruising, so that you dont have to wind it up to get moving. You want to be able to keep it in 5th at 2k and just lean on the throttle to go up a hill or pass a car, not have to drop a gear."If I asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses." - Henry Ford

Seb's high class.
He'll mow your grass.
He'll kick your ass.
And while his kidney stones pass,
He'll piss in a glass!

If you calculated it properly, I'd say it would be good for similar gains. You also have to look at how long it would take you to get a ROI.

Yeah, I actually think going up to a 3.55 or 3.73 gear will help, youre not in your good tq range.
Also look at putting light weight wheels like draglites and maybe consider upgrading the brakes to a lighter than stock pro street brake setup. Any rotational weight u can drop will help.Carl S.

So this should be called the SN95-Eco..
Compression ratio and weight are your best friends in MPG.
Too high of (low number) gears will decrease mpg as stated when downshift/more throttle are required.
3.55, explorer cam and intake with good aluminum heads and tune will yield good results.

if your're getting 27mpg on the highway, I wouldn't even wipe the fucking dust off of the dash...
in other words, don't fuck with it
