So would it be better to buy a hole kit or just build one

Turbostang (Brooks is his name) builds custom turbo kits. Just send him a PM with what you have in mind and he will shoot you straight.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the props!

For someone on a budget and for "only" 1000HP, you can build a kit pretty cheap.

I have a car RIGHT NOW, that you could get in and run 5.30's - and it's using flipped shorties and ebay intercooler. The most money you'd spend is on the turbo. The intercooler is from ebay @ ~225$ with tubing, Wastegate from ebay @ about 100$, tubing about 400$ (for dumped exhaust), BOV from ebay @ 80$.

If you prefer name brand stuff - you can multiply the above total by about 4X. The stuff mentioned above works fine, I've used them on MANY cars. 1175RWHP, Low 5's in the 1/8.

PM me if you'd like more details.

Hey Brooks, speaking of WG's, do you have one you like from Ebay? I'm going to change my 38mm out for a 44mm and route it into my downpipe. Not planning on buying a Tial or something crazy expensive. Which one do you like?

Yeah Doug, there's a BUNCH of them out there - here's the main search page..

eBay Motors makes it easy to find parts for cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles & more. We even offer a massive selection of new & pre-owned classics, hot rods, exotics, vans, ATVs, RVs, boats and more at eBay Motors. Shop for your next vehicle, or start selling in a marketplace with 171 million buyers.

The ones I use, normally come from these guys -

Typically, I don't buy these for any reason - they're too bulky and too hard to put on / take off.

I don't buy these, because they are a bit bulky - (note: same base, probably same vendor for the base)

Notice - This "precision" one is the SAME.I'd suspect they all are either the same mold, or possibly a good copy of Tial.. regardless, they aren't worth paying the extra $$ for something that does the SAME thing

Cool. Mine are the ones that came with Brian's kit (Turbo Concepts WG and BOV). Thanks for the info. Just didn't want to buy any junk.

Brian from b&g told me that the precision brand is owned by one of the original guys @ tial. I had a 38mm on my first kit and it held great @ 5psi and never crept.

Oh Brooks, one more question... do you know what material the flanges that come with the Godspeed WG are? Alum or SS? I'm guessing aluminum, but not positive. I'm planning on relocating the WG as I don't like where it is now and believe that's part of the creep problem. Bigger and at a better location should resolve the issue.

No wastegate would have aluminum that I'm aware of. ALL of the imports I've used are made of a low-grade stainless.
