front suspension travel question

I'm only getting about 3/4" of travel in my front suspension. If I measure, then jack the car up and let the suspension hang i'm measuring just over 3/4" travel. That just doesn't seem right. Car has AJE K member, stock A arms (not binding) strange adjustable struts, and strange coil over kit. Also has SN95 spindles. Also look at how high the strut is coming out of the caster camber plate, should I try and put a spacer on the bottom to get more length underneath the plate? I could lower the front end some to get the travel but that is going to throw off the front/rear balance and its already raking down in the front as it is.

14-175 i *think*. What do the spring specs matter if the strut isn't extending far enough? I wonder if I could have the wrong strut.

That's possible. Are you running a front sway bar?

Disconnect the tie rod and sway bar if you have one and restest.

I don't have a sway bar. If I remove the nut on top of the strut that holds it to the caster plate the whole a arm / spindle / strut etc drops to the floor and the a arm swings through its entire range.

It looks like the 94-2004 struts have a longer reach. I have a fox body car but 94 spindles. Maybe I need the 94s... ugh.

This chart shows the base length, then extended length. the 94's would get me an extra 1.4" at ride height.

Thats what I'm thinking. I'm gonna cut some up on the lathe real quick before trying the 94 struts

I'd lower it some but remember when brooks was showing you how that hatchback he had launched and the ass dipped down? I'm trying to get my car to do that and if I lower it at this point I'm afraid its gonna dip down too far.

I've cut some 1.5" spacers for the bottom. I can get it to extend down to about the 5 1/4" mark now. I haven't put it together with the spring but its definitely extending further than it was

Spacers is definitely the right solution. Going to 94-04 struts you would actually lose a lot of bump travel compared to the Fox struts and could bottom out the strut depending on your ride height.
