  • LS swap drive by wire vs. throttle cable

Guy at work is swapping an LS motor and transmission from an 02 Tahoe into a 77 Blazer. The Tahoe he is parting has the drive by wire thing and he wants to switch to a regular style throttle cable. He traded the complete intake manifold/ throttle body for a car style one that uses the cable he wants. Is this going to work or is there more to it than that?

I kept the drive by wire in my c10. It makes hooking the cruise control up much easier not to mention there won't be ugly cables to look at.

Other then switching the parts out and turning that part in the tune off that should be it.

The older truck water pump wont clear the throttle body cam. There are multiple solutions for that.

Fly by wire uses a different crankshaft reluctor from the cable stuff. You'll need a signal converter if you go that route

2002 model year is going to be a 24x relucator.

24x will support both manual and electronic throttle.

I had to cut the cruise control nipple off of the throttle blade and then it cleared the upper water hose
