  • 2010 F-150 Tranny problems

Has anyone had issue with their F-150 trannys having a bad thump to them when coming to a stop or taking off from a stop?
Mine has for a few months now and is getting worse.

I can grab the tranny yoke and move it and the tail shaft around and feel the slack in it.

Any ford techs or trans guys on here familiar with this issue?

Driveshaft slip yoke needs to be relubed. there is a revised lube/grease for the slip yoke. TSB 12-07-13.

X2 Very common and easy to do.
      Some cars and a bike...

That issue had been around for i don't know how long. Are they still using the light blue Teflon grease?

No they use a very sticky white grease that holds up a lot better than the Ford blue PTFE for slip yokes.

Turns out that's exactly what it was.
When I took it apart it hardly had any grease on it all but what was there was blue.

Cleaned it all up and used Mobil 1 grease and so far no problems driving around today.

Regular grease works also. May not last though
