  • Install Parking brake on 93 mustang

Has anyone installed a parking brake on a 93 that has a 94-95 disc brake rear axle? Hoping I can just buy the cable, already have bracket that installs to caliper but got to thinking and I wonder if the handle and mechanism is different.

Perhaps the biggest area of confusion regarding a disc brake swap (regardless of 4 or 5-lug) is how to get the parking brake to work. For this, you will need new e-brake cables. Specifically: (2) FMS M-2809-A cables, (1) FMS M-2810-A center e-brake cable. There is also a special modification that must be done at the parking brake handle for it to work correctly.

I made a video on how to do it on the SN95 mustangs, you can see how it hooks up and the general design in the video. Basically, one cable from each caliper run up to a small equalizer cable that goes to the handle.

FYI on my 93 it wasn't to bad the center link is the same and I purchased 94 cables since my axle is from a 94. Everything went together like it was supposed to. $34 bucks in its entirety to get the cables from oreilly also.

93 cables are specific to 93, especially cobras (rear disc). I found that out the hard way trying to put parking brake cables on my 86 ttop with an sn95 rearend. I actually have the 93 cobra cables laying around and never installed them. They are brand new and would like to get rid of them if anyone in this post needs them.
