Honda Valve adjustment

I was going to adjust the valves on my 2002 Civic SI, and 2 of the cylinders had valve lashes that were tight. I was expecting to see some that were loose not too tight, I am at 203K miles.

The valves had been checked before but have never needed adjustment, I am getting a misfire detected on those two cylinders as well.

How would they possibly get tighter??

As the valves wear, they sink into the valve seats. The end result will be tight clearances because of this.
