4l60e vs 4l65e

Trans blew yesterday and I need to have it rebuilt. Should I have the 60 built or find a 65 to build and put in? Which is a stronger trans?

Thanks in advance. It is going in a 06' QC chevy 6.0 swap, full exhaust, and normal bolt ons.

I have a rebuilt 4l60e for sale. Never used and includes convertor.

Not a real big difference in the two transmission. A 60 will have 4 pinion planets while the 65 should have 5 pinions the idea is to spread the load out some. I have seen 65's with 4 pinions from the factory. Easy enough to update your 60 to the 5 pinion planets and update the rest while you are in it.

No, you're better off sticking with the 60 or 65. The convertor, driveshaft, wiring harness, etc. all needs to be changed for the 80. PM Corey (mustang1200) or look to see what LKQ has

If you do go to 5 pinion planetary, get the gm one. Aftermarket known to be weaker than the factory 4 pinion planetary. 03 and newer should have the 5pinion piece in it from what I've read.
