  • strange 10 way struts and upr coilover kit

In the process of installing my k member, got to putting the strut sleeves on the struts and they won't fit. In the Shitty instructions your supposed to drill out the hat but mine look to be pressed on, called upr and strange and nobody knows what to do, the engineers are out till Monday. Anyone else had this problem. I don't want to ruin a good strut.....thanks

    Post a picture?

I know maximum motorsports sells different coil over kits for each brand of strut because they say this happens.

I have the same set up , if I remember right I just drilled the top . I think the sides are there for production assembly . I did mine a year ago , so don't bet the farm on that .

When i did mine, I thought I took the hat off, slid the UPR collar on and reinstalled the hat. I know I didn't drill anything. I think I just tapped the hat with a hammer on each side until it came off.
              .

My first coil-over kit was installed on some old 90/10s. I took the strut to a grinder and ground that cap flat with the strut body LOL. Hopefully didn't ruin the strut when I did. This was like 14 years ago LOL. I don't remember having to do that on the strange struts when I slide the sleeve over them.
