  • my winter project

My goal is to get my classic mustang road worthy for the 50th Anniversary Mustang Pony Drive to Mustang OK. I may have a few questions for the classic mustang guys as I go.

Up on jacks to strip it down. I won't be doing anything to the body, so that will save a lot of time.

The only rust is in the cowl and floor boards.

The new suspension. I'm also putting in a 9 inch out of a Lincoln Versailles, but instead of the lincoln disc brakes I'm going with cobra brakes. I have reverse eye rear leaf springs, but I'm still trying to locate the edelbrock rear shocks. I heard QA1 is taking over Edelbrock's suspension components, but I haven't had any luck finding more info on where to get the shocks. I already have the edelbrocks for the front, so I'd like to match the back.

I'm debating between the vintage venom and mustangsteve disc brake brackets for my cobra brakes. Anyone have any experience with either?

I've got a rebuilt 289 with gt40 heads and xe268 cam. My tranny is a t5z from a 94 cobra. I'm not 100% sure yet if it's going to fit with the cobra tranny, I may have to change the input and bell housing to a fox body set.

Here's where I'm at today. I've got all the suspension ripped out (that was a chore with all the rusty hardware), I got the redneck trailer hitch removed and I've got a good start on the driver's floor.

Nice start. Looks like the new stable is serving you well.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

Also, I used that same cam in mine, I think you will like it a lot. Tons of low end.
