I need some advice on a problem. I just got thru doing a 5 lug conversion on my 89 mustang. Put 99 spindles hubs and brakes on the front off a V6. Its lowered 2 inches. I have a set of 18x9 FR500 on the front w/ 255/40/18 on the front and rub just a little on the out side of the tire edge to the inside fender lip. I have been told that putting a 235/40/18 will give me the clearance that i need. I am concerned that the tire will be to much of a stretch for the 18x9. Anyone had this issue or have any advice.

Which offset wheels do you have? For '94-'04 or '05-'11? The ones for the S197 cars pull the wheel back in the wheel well more, which might work better with '99 spindles since they increase your track width.Atlantic Blue '00 - '03 Cobra motor and TKO600, solid axle, full MM suspension

I have found my solution. I have ordered a pair fiberglass fender that is made for road racing cars. It give me a full inch and 1/2 more lip clearance and still has the stock look. I have rolled the lip on both rear fenders and also had to use a BFH to make some room on the rear inner finder. thanks for the help.Nitrous is like a hot girl with an STD.
