Change a timing belt in a Mitsu Lancer?

I don't know anything about these cars but I know someone needing a belt change and was quoted $700 at a dealer. Just wanted to know if there is a lot involved. Its a just a 2003 Lancer ES, not an EVO.

Well i don't think its alot involved, but i work on cars for a living, so....that motor uses a timing belt driven waterpump and only a fool wouldn't change it also. Alldata book rate is 3.8 hrs and it is also an interference engine. The $700 sounds a little high.

The 3.8 is water pump change which includes timing belt,timing belt only is 3.2 hrs.
