How much difference in noise is there compared to a WC T5? Is there a lot of gear whine?

I currently have a 2003 G-Force T5 synchronized, and the first 3 gears are pretty noticeable.

Due to the straighter cut gears, there will be more noise than a stock T5 in good shape. Levels vary depending on how loud the rest of the car is and how much noise reduction is left in place in the chassis. Over all, its not too bad and usually customers tell me that it gets a little quieter after some miles are put on it. I personally think they just get use to it or turn up the radio a little more.
