What pin. You need to be more specific. I have some top plate rebuild kits that will come with new jaws/springs and whatnot, but you need to let me know what exactly is your problem and the make/model of the fifth wheel.

Are you saying the handle that you pull out to unlock is popping back in, thus closing the jaws and keeping the pin from the trailer from locking into place?

Mine had a notch on the handle that would hold it open until the pin engaged, then it would pop over and latch itself around the pin. From there all I had to do was get out and clasp the safety latch and put the little pin/clip on.

I've seen some that have a pin that holds the jaws open while you back into it....perhaps you have one of those and are missing the open pin?

Your jaws are worn or need slack adjusted. Just go to chapparall fifth wheel in seagoville and buy a rebuitl unit. They install it in under 15 min.
