302/t5 spacer plate

If I don't run the spacer plate/dust shield between my block and bell housing will the spacing be screwed up for my trans input shaft and my starter? I don't seem to have a spare one laying around

I dont have a spacer/dust shield on my fox, and have no problems at all with fitment issues...

What does thank mean exactly ? I think I know , but not sure.

if you remove the spacer, you are moving the trans forward. This can preload the crank and take out the thrust bearing.

Thanks for the replies! I got one from summit. I threw it in with what will hopefully be my last batch of summit crap before I can hit the block in my G-ride.
