  • 302/t5 spacer plate

If I don't run the spacer plate/dust shield between my block and bell housing will the spacing be screwed up for my trans input shaft and my starter? I don't seem to have a spare one laying around

Well, they have gone up a little since I purchased a couple years ago. Still not expensive at $26:

make sure you use one, this can affect crank thrust more importantly

if you remove the spacer, you are moving the trans forward. This can preload the crank and take out the thrust bearing.

Thanks for the replies! I got one from summit. I threw it in with what will hopefully be my last batch of summit crap before I can hit the block in my G-ride.
