cant really tell by the pic, but they might be slightly recessed in the holes.

in that case you need a piece of round stock welded to get a wrench on that nut.

...or you can simply go to to home depot and just buy a smaller bolt to weld on.

Op, you are making a mountain out of a mole hill. The above posts are your only options. Do work.

Don't worry about what you can't change.
Do the best you can with what you have.

If you can get it to my house in s Arlington I'd be glad to weld a nut on there. Done it many times with broke turbo bolts n manifold bolts in heads. I do appreciate a beer reward if successful.

Sometimes it takes more than one try with manifold bolts that have been in there a while.

x2 You can have them out in less than 2 minutes and not have to lug the bike anywhere.

id think a tig weld would be easier and stronger to get in there opposed to a mig weld.

From what i have dealt with on bikes/cars bolts like those do not bottom out in their holes and unless they are corroded welding should not be needed. When the heads are snapped off the load/friction holding them in is almost nothing. There might be some due to a slightly bent portion near the heads but those should be cake to get out with some left thread drill bits. Hell if you get really lucky you can just walk them out with some sharp picks (even pressure directly opposite of each other)

For the bottom hole a deep time-sert and some jb-weld would work for me. If you are worried about the JB coming loose, some of that magic alumaloy/braze would hold up better, in stall the cover with the 2 good holes/bolts, drill and tap=done. Fixed a similar situation on an old cb650 after it got dropped.

I drove around today and checked with several local shops and couldn't find even one that thought they could do it so I may go see if I can get them out in a few minutes.

they might very well slip out if theyre not corroded like mentioned above.

if you do use an easy out or left hand bit, soak the bolts in liquid wrench over night and hit 'em with a torch right before you go to work.

i have both if you need them.

                          How about something like this?

I haven't needed to use them yet but Leah gave them to me as a stocking stuffer so I'm sure they're inexpensive.
