How important is it to change out header gaskets ? The motor will be pulled and refinished, then re installed ..

Also... for the bolts that i cannot get to with an open end ( bolt hugs header pipe) what size 12 point /allen bolt can i use in lieu of normal bolt. I just need to buy two or three ?

it might leak if the old gasket is bad

use new ones! They're cheap and you won't have to worry about them later. I think there are some locking nuts that will allow you to get a small wrench on them, think dallas mustang has em.
