Fox body seat ghetto lean

Driver seat in my 92 is suffering from the dreaded ghetto lean.

Anybody ever repaired one? Don't really want to replace it, the upholstery and foam is in great condition. I'd love to strip it down and fix it, but I don't know if the root cause is even fixable.

Do I repair, or find a new seat frame?

I think I would rather just find a new seat frame, but I prefer to replace than repair when it comes to that kind of stuff.

I have fixed a couple gangster seats before, I just get in the back and then push/twist/bend it back to how it should be. In a Saturn I had it took a little extra persuasion with my foot, but I didn't care in that case, the car was free.

Strip it down and see if it is broke or bent . If it is broke bring it over and we will weld it up . If its just bent straighten it up and we can weld some supports in . Easy peasy !

Look at your floor pans. If they started to crack, its only going to make the seat issue worst.

Take the seat out. Remove the covers and foam. Bend the seat back and weld what broke

Thanks for all the input, looks like I just need to tear it down and see what's broke.

Well I took the seat apart a couple weeks ago, found a few of the factory spot welds had broken, and caused several other cracks in the frame. It also twisted the heck out of it, hence the lean.

Straightened it the best I could, and went to greenbullitts house. He welded it up, better than before. Reassembled the seat (2weeks later), and reinstalled it. Can't tell it was ever apart, and it's as good as new!
