Best heads, no intake? Or decent heads, decent intake?

Still, I'd opt for good heads and do an intake manifold later.
Sorry, it's listed in my sig.

I like my Brodix and systemax, seems to work well.

Don't buy a trash throttle body. Accufab ftw!

            Lol!

The heads are the most critical part of engine performance, next to the cam and intake. They all work together, ideally if you're on a budget you start from bottom, so id do the heads first.

AFR, TFS, Eldelbrock, Brodix are the name brands, but still have garbage valve springs. If you go procomp you'll need to spend $$ on getting them "up to par" new seals, guides ect..

Intakes, I suggest a systemax or Eldelbrock rpm 2 intake for your set up, hell maybe even a gt40 intake if you want to have a lot of low end.

Camshafts, well id give several cam builder/cutters a call and see what they say. A lot of folks running Ed Curtis cams making good power and running good times.

Saw a post a guy had tfs tw heads, systemax and a Ed Curtis cam, made 335/335 and went 10.9 at 12x

I say you keep the stock HO cam, works great for boosted applications, TW190 heads, and a used Track Heat or Systemax intake. With 12#'s of boost and a conservative tune you will 425 to the wheels at 5200 RPM.

Twisted Wedge/systemax intake get my vote. Other intakes will get you 450 rw also.

AFR 185's at the moment. Systemax, comp cam xe274hr and longtubes when more funds become available is my vote. But I've been out of the push rod scene for quite some time...

I was told by a few wise men, always buy heads that seem to big, you can always grow into them!

I've got an Explorer intake, $160. Flows about what a Cobra intake does. That being said, I'd think you would want something that flows a bit better!
