    Seem like a damn ripoff, it looks like a fire extinguisher with some tubing and a few nozzles, anyone every DIY on one of these?

    DO NOT buy the SPA brand. They are only good for two years and you can't refill locally. You have to send them off for about $130/ea with shipping. Ask me how I know.

    There is a brand that sells AFFF systems but you can fill yourself with a kit. That is the one to get. ESS brand I think.

    Otherwise, just buy an extinguisher and a good mount and pray you don't have an underhood fire.

            AFFF is some good shit but is mildly corrosive. If you ever have to set it off and the car is still salvageable make sure you wash everything off well.
