  • Body mod opinions wanted

I am looking more at doing some changes to the front end of the Cobra.

Here is the canvas as it sits now. Let me hear your opinions. I am trying to avoid a vatozone riced out look to the car's already clean styling (my opinion to the sn95 haters)

For one, I want to do a heat extractor on the hood similar to this car using the GT500 hood vent. This at a minimum. $60 and a couple hours cutting up a (or my) stock hood.
    pics stolen by corner-carvers

If not that route, I am looking at some hoods.
    Griggs GR40

Tiger Racing (Paul Brown, deceased son of Kenny Brown but I hear they make a run of their hoods every so often)

Bumpers. I like the 03 Cobra bumper, fog light provisions, plus a duct I can use for brake cooling ducting. I also like the larger opening for the radiator/intercooler. Plus, I can find a splitter that will fit this bumper profile unlike I the factory 94/95 Cobra that is hard to find, expensive and goofy looking to boot.

This is the ABC Exclusive. Out of Wylie, Tx so I can drive there to pick it up, save freight, save freight damage, get the pic of what I want, etc.

I am a big fan of the Griggs GR40 but it is a pin on only hood. bleh, this is a street car and needs to hing up.

I wouldn't mind a Cervinis Cobra R hood, it is fitting for the era and the wheels but I am really looking for some heat extraction at the radiator just past the high pressure area.

I am already looking at ditching the factory hood latch for other reasons and going with the Aerocatch latches.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

Grigs or ABC. The rest of those are just too much rice.

All of those hoods are fucking hideous. I like the GT500 extractor idea. Pretty unique. Or just throw on a 96-98 Cobra hood.

Or the 96-98 1" raised cobra hoods look badass. That's what I'm getting... eventually.

Factory Cobra R hood with the GT500 extractor? I have got to get under hood temps down and that extractor has proven itself on cornercarvers and several other sites to help.

Again, i am a huge fan of the Griggs but it is pin on only.

What about the 03 Bumper? Does it look like it doesn't fit the rest of the body or what?

Would not do an 03 Bumper. Once you start going overboard tacking on other era body pieces to a car, it starts looking like it belongs in the Traders Village parking lot. Your car is clean as hell as it sits. Do something simple if the heat is a problem. Don't go crazy. I am one of those wacky people that loves a mostly stock looking SN95, especially the Cobras. Why mess with something that was right from the factory? Do something with the hood and leave it at that. The Cobra R hood is okay, but it is way overdone. Being black, the extractor will semi-blend in unless someone is closely looking at it, plus the functionality of it ups the sleeper cool factor.

Keep it as factory looking as possible, IMHO. Oh, and HELL NO to the 03-04 cobra bumper. It doesnt match the body style at all.

I have a cervini cobra r hood off my car for sale. It's in perfect shape just needs to be painted to match your car. IMO the cobra r hood flows really well with the rounded body lines on the sn95 cars..
