Looking at a 2009 GT500. I don't like the idea of running with no spare and only the air pump. I know a plug is OK and you can air it up and go. But what it is not a plugable flat ? I don't mind a wheel/tire combo being a little tall for the well in the trunk. Any wheel short of another high dollar Shelby wheel work ?

My 13' came with a 185/55/18 spare in the trunk, but seeing as those don't come with the Brembo cars, I'm betting they won't clear the front brakes.
A friend of mine carries around an extra stock wheel/tire in the trunk of his Shelby, but it doesn't fit the well worth a shit either. He lives way out in the county though, so it makes sense.
If you aren't driving long distances and live in the city I'd probably just wing it.70' Chevelle RagTop

I thought about just getting a spare wheel, maybe even with some curb rash. Then get an upholstery guy make a slip cover somewhat like the Lincolns used. I really don't need the trunk space, and I would feel a lot better with a real wheel back there. The well under the spare could be used for storage.
