I recently bought a 2007 edge sel plus with 70k. Just drove about a hour drive and everything was fine and great. then I stopped at a house with my car running and then the abs light came on with the tcs off light as well. After driving for a minute those lights turned off. Then drove another 30 minutes with no issues at all. then later went out to get food but on the way back the check engine light came on with the air bag light as well. Then the odometer just had dashes on it and the trans would not shift at all. When you went front park to drive it makes a loud clunk. The car will move but it almost feels like it is stuck in second or third gear. Any ideas on what would cause this out of the blue? Thanks for any advice.

Thanks for the responses. I have never owned a car this new could a low battery also cause it to clunk when going into drive and cause it not to shift at all?Originally posted by BaronIf I dissagree with you, it is because you are wrong.

More than likely needs the revised turbine shaft speed sensor (TSS) and output shaft speed sensor(OSS).
It's a common problem with the transmissions on these early years of the 6f50. When there's a transmission circuit fault it will have harsh engagements and default 5th gear take offs.

well update on my ride. I dropped it off at a transmission shop and they tell me that the sensors and trans all tested good on a scanner. They told me that it was my battery terminals being corroded. They say that on this car if the computer detects a voltage drop it will stay in third gear and shut down features to conserve power. So I cleaned them up and sprayed some corrosion protection on them and we will see. Thanks for the replies and help.Originally posted by BaronIf I dissagree with you, it is because you are wrong.
