Let him keep that shifter or promptly throw it in the trash.

Does anyone know what exact tools i need to get it apart? What clutch do i get for it if i need to get a new one?
You might be the one crying if it needs any parts. Tremec 3550/TKO gears and syncro assemblies are expensive as hell.

It will be ok. having to buy some parts will be less that buying a rebuilt one
or especially considering this one came out of a running driving car and i am getting for 200 bucks. I think ill still be ahead of the game...

The bell housing and shifter are worth what you paid for the transmission.
